Sustainable development and Women in leadership

The Central Asia Stock Exchange (CASE), together with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and UN Women, held the Ring the Bell for Gender Equality ceremony and discussion on Sustainable Development and Women in Leadership.
        The opening ceremony of the Ring the Bell for Gender Equality aims to draw the attention of the global community to the perspectives of gender inclusiveness and support for gender equality in the context of sustainable development policies and ESG principles.
        The discussion on "Sustainable Development and Women in Leadership" was held with participation of leading experts in the field of finance and corporate governance, who discussed topics related to support of gender inclusiveness in the management of government agencies and large companies.
        CASE is hosting this ceremony for the first time as part of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, to which CASE joined at the beginning of this year. This action around the world is traditionally supported by the IFC, UN Women, the UN Global Compact, the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative and the World Federation of Exchanges. Each year, more than 100 exchanges around the world hold the ceremony in dedication to gender equality as part of the UN SSE Initiative.
        During the official opening of the event Director of CASE Rakhmanova Umeda said: "We hope that the ceremony will become a good tradition for the local financial community, and the Central Asian Stock Exchange will not only be a platform for trading securities, but also a platform for dialogue about gender diversity in today's business environment".
        Welcoming remarks at the annual Ring the Bell for Gender Equality were made by Majidi Yusuf Khairullo - Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonzoda Nigina Shukhrat - Director of the Agency for Securities Market Development and Specialized Registrar of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, Madina Nurmatova – Manager of  IFC Projects on Private and Financial Sectors in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and Aziza Hamidova - Head of UN Women Office in Tajikistan.
        The speakers at the discussion "Sustainable Development and Women in Leadership" were Zamira Samadova - Director of "Imkon Consulting" LLC, Firuza Iskhakova - Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Bank Eskhata", Gulanor Atobek - Chairman of the Board of JSC "Alif Bank", Lola Salimova - EBRD National Expert on Gender Issues, Alisher Shernazarov - Chairman of the Board of Directors of OJSC "Central Asian Stock Exchange", and Madina Yerzhanova - Director of Strategy and Corporate Development Department of JSC "National Management Holding "Beiterek" (Kazakhstan).
At the end, the speakers with a welcoming speech, rang the bell and opened trading at the Central Asian Stock Exchange OJSC.
